On July 21, 2025 Hayden Bennett a Professional Women's Motocross Racer sustained a life changing injury. After recently being accepted to race the last three rounds of the WMX series, Hayden put her all into her training program. Traveling two hours to two different tracks every weekend, she was feeling good heading into the end of the season. During one of these practice sessions things took a turn that nobody could have predicted.

Bennett recapped the series of events for us. “I was coming around the corner to hit a step down and came up a little bit short on the knuckle of the landing, I landed flat from 10ft up, 85+ ft distance and both feet blew off the pegs.” She reported “I then bounced again and landed on my tailbone. I immediately lost all feeling in my upper legs, tailbone, ankles and feet.” Following her accident Hayden was initially taken to Berkshire Medical in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. After arriving there they made the decision to transport her via ambulance to Bay State Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts where she underwent emergency surgery to repair the compression fracture to her L1 vertebrae.

After having her spinal cord fused from the  T12 - L1 4 vertebrae and having 4 screws 2 rods placed into her back, Hayden has no feeling or movement from the waist down. Wanting to jump right into the recovery process, Hayden was transported again post surgery to Helen Hayes Rehabilitation Center in West Haverstraw, New York where she has already been fitted for prosthetic leg braces. Although the recovery process is unpredictable, as of now they plan to stay at this inpatient rehabilitation facility until August 22nd.

At only 19 years old, Hayden has spent most of her life as a part of the motocross community, knowing the true meaning and heart of being a privateer racer. The last few weeks have been spent prepping, purchasing new parts, plastics and more with plans to head to her first round of WMX at Ironman. Planning on having her Father and Brother join her to the first round, with her entire family joining her at their hometown race of Unadilla, then to Buds Creek. Outside of racing Hayden is very active, spending her free time mountain biking, doing yoga, skateboarding, riding BMX and more.

Hayden needs all of our support to get back to the lifestyle she knows and loves.
